Presque rien (2024)

A stereophonic ear-theatre for quartet and field recordings

Concert piece for ensemble and electronics where encapsulating soundscapes are drawn from outdoor performances at Veierland, a small roadless island outside Tønsberg, Norway. Small, fragile instrumental sounds meets the changing sonic scenarios of the island, where wind, nature, inhabitants and the sounds of randomly passing machines and vehicles are captured and manipulated live. With a gentle nod to the pioneers of field recording of the 1950s and 60s, Lemur weaves soundsacapes, found sounds and post-production into subtle live performances.
